Master in Clinical Research
specialty of Respiratory Medicine
The Master in Clinical Research, specialty of "Respiratory Medicine" is an international and inter-university Master course organized by the University of Barcelona (UB), Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). It is aimed at training researchers in the field of respiratory diseases, and includes the participation of CIBERES (National Center of Biomedical Research for Respiratory Diseases) and the Foundation Barcelona Respiratory Network (BRN).
The Master is addressed to those in possession of a degree in Health and Life Sciences (Biomedical Sciences) interested in advanced training in basic, translational and clinical research on respiratory diseases.
Courses, which will be given mostly in English. Common subjects: Always on Fridays, October 2018-January 2019, online or on-site/classroom sessions (on Fridays). Optional subjects: December 2018-May 2019, online classes and one week on-site classes at the beginning of February 2019. The Master’s thesis will be submitted and defended in June.
The Respiratory Medicine track of this Master is associated with the Erasmus Mundus Master "European Master BioHealth Computing", which is implemented in cooperation with the Universities of Grenoble (France), Maastricht (The Netherlands), Torino (Italy) and Cluj (Romania). At the end of the Master specialty in Respiratory Medicine students can pursue the Erasmus Mundus BioHealth Computing Master and later on an Erasmus Mundus PhD.
The Respiratory Medicine track stems from the Master in Respiratory Medicine that was offered in the past for five consecutive years. In the year 2012, it changed its name to the Respiratory Medicine Track of the MASTER IN CLINICAL RESEARCH, consisting of a Master of 60 ECTS (credits), 18 of which are common to the other tracks. Specifically, the Respiratory Medicine Track consists of 24 ECTS (theoretical courses) and 18 ECTS of the research project.
